Evraz Palini e Bertoli is a quarto mill steel manufacturing plant. It was founded in 1963 in Spinedasco (Cremona). Since 1992 the company's steel operations have been conducted in San Giorgio di Nogaro (Udine province). The production unit is the largest in Central and Northern Italy. Its capacity is 500,000 tons/year in a broad range of customer-specified steels.
The company is well estabilished in the European,North American and the Mediterranean markets. Thanks to its ongoing commitment to the manufacturing of quality steel plates and its efficient and flexible production processes, comined with weel-located shipping and trasportation facilities, Palini e Bertoli maintains a strong competitive position in its market.
2005 Evraz Holding, international group quoted at London Stock Exchange, takes control of the company. production capacity imrovens thanks to a new rolling line that allows the plant to manufacture over 500.000 tons/year.
2003 The ownership of the company is split between the management (51%) and the MPS Venture Capital Fund (49%). Plate width now reaches 3100 mm.
1999 The company is bought by Schroeder Venture Capital (now Permira), with minority management shares del management.
1997 PB plates are sold in the mediterranean Area and in North America. In 1999 the company is bought by Schroeder Venture Capital (now Permira), with minority management shares.
1995 PB procucts are sold all over Europe. The plants begins a 24-hour-production cycle, plane width now reaches 2600 mm.
1992 Manufacturing in the new plant begins in March (maximun width reaches 2200 mm). PB market broadens to include Austria and Former Yugoslavia. In 1993 PB opens new marchets in France and Germany.
1987 The company is bought by the Beltrame Group jointly with the Pittini Group. In 1991 the project for a new plant in San Giorgio di Nogaro is started while production in Spinedasco stops.
1963 The first production unit is built in Spinedasco (CR) by Ing. Bertoli and his wife Mrs Palini. The plant consists of a three-high mill able to produce plates 1600 mm max. length in special and structural steel.
